Is this a black swan or a banana piano?

The BBC (and others) have reported that two MIT students have devised a low-cost circuit that can make everyday objects function as touch pads for controlling electronic devices. For example the bananas shown above are substituting (badly at present....) for piano keys. Other suitable objects include marshmallows, play-dough, cats' tongues, buckets of water, human body parts, etc., etc..................
